Some fungi highlights from our walk.
Another first for us Thelephora terrestris (Earthfan)

We spotted these in the sandy, grassy verges of the paths adjacent stands of conifers.
The next two photos, an unknown crust fungi with wonderful underside tube structure.

From above…

Much of the sapwood of this conifer log has decomposed away to reveal a skeleton of heartwood and remnant branches.

Following our discovery of Black Morels at the allotment – more excitement when we found a large array of False Morels – Gyromitra esculenta – in a large grassy clearing adjacent a conifer stand…
