On an evening walk in the woods by the youth hostel we stumbled upon these…
Woodland around YHA Idwal Cottage
At the time we had a vague idea they were a fungus – we were just excited to see them.
We think that they are Xylaria polymorpha – Dead Person’s Fingers, but as we are identifying them from the photo we took in 2015, they could also be Xylaria longipes – Dead Moll’s Fingers.
